Choosing the right photo
The photo you send is what we work from, so a clear one makes all the difference. Any recent phone photo usually works.
Works best
- Daylight, near a window or outdoors in shade
- Your pet looking toward the camera, at their eye level
- Both eyes and ears clearly visible
- Sharp, not blurry, and from your phone's main camera
Try to avoid
- Dark rooms or strong flash
- Screenshots or photos sent through messaging apps, which lose detail
- Leashes, hands or toys covering the face
- Several pets in one photo. Each portrait features one pet.
Questions, answered
Will it arrive before Christmas?
Order by December 8 and your portrait will arrive within the US before Christmas. Orders placed after that may still make it, but we can't promise.
How long does it take?
Your portrait takes 1 to 2 business days to create and 2 to 5 to print and frame. Shipping within the US takes 3 to 5 business days, so most orders arrive within 7 to 12 business days. Around the holidays, order early.
What does the frame look like?
A slim, modern wood frame in black, with a clear shatterproof front, ready to hang. The portrait fills the frame edge to edge, with no mat.
Is it hand-painted?
No. Each portrait is a digitally created artwork in the style of a classic oil painting, made from your photo, then printed on museum-quality matte paper and framed.
What photo should I send?
A recent, sharp photo taken in daylight, with your pet looking toward the camera and both eyes visible. The original from your phone works better than a screenshot.
Can I order a portrait of a pet who has passed away?
Yes, and many people do. Send the clearest photo you have. Older photos often work well, as long as your pet's face is visible.
Can I include more than one pet?
Yes. Tick “Add a 2nd Pet to the Same Portrait” (+$29) and we'll paint both pets side by side in one portrait, in one frame. We'll email you to collect the second photo.
What if it doesn't look like my pet?
Email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll remake it free, from the same photo or a new one you send.
Which size should I choose?
12×16 suits a shelf, desk or smaller wall. 18×24 makes a statement above a sofa, bed or fireplace.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes. Shipping is free within the US. We also ship to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with shipping shown at checkout.
